Dr. David DeAinza is a 2001 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois. He has an undergraduate degree in microbiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. His experience includes private practice dentistry as well as working in a non-profit, community health setting. From 2001-2003, Dr. DeAinza was an associate dentist with his uncle and mentor, Dr. Roger Cullen in Southern California. From 2004-2006, Dr. DeAinza was the Director of Dental Services (along with his wife) at two clinics, one of which included a children's only dental clinic, in Nevada City, California. Since the Fall of 2006, he has been in private solo practice in downtown Portland.
Dr. DeAinza is a current member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, and Multnomah Dental Society. Dr. DeAinza stays current with advances in dentistry by regularly attending continuing education courses, both locally and abroad. He is also a member of a local chapter of the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. DeAinza has volunteered at the Creston School Dental Center in SE Portland since 2006. This is a wonderful, longstanding program providing dental care for needy and underserved children in Portland.
Dr. DeAinza is active in the local alumni chapters for both Northwestern University, and Cal Poly SLO. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus fraternal organization.
In his free time, Dr. DeAinza, his wife Minah (also a dentist), and daughter Emma enjoy hanging out in Portland and getting outdoors. Dr. DeAinza enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, tennis, and hiking. His other hobbies include gardening, reading, and listening to music.
In 2006, Dr. David DeAinza was hand selected to take over the practice of Dr. John McComb, who retired after 35 years of practice in Portland. The practice wishes Dr. McComb well as he pursues volunteer dentistry with Medical Teams International.
