Dr. De Ainza

Dr. David De Ainza has over 20 years of dental experience helping patients achieve their dental health goals. He enjoys dentistry for its ability to provide rewarding service and positive, lasting relationships with patients and colleagues.

He is a 2001 graduate of Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois. He also has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in California. Since 2006, he has been in private solo practice in Downtown Portland. Earlier in his career, Dr. De Ainza worked as an associate in his uncle’s dental practice in Southern California and in a dental public health setting, working with underserved adults and children for a non-profit, rural community health clinic in Northern California.

He is a current member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, and Multnomah Dental Society. Dr. DeAinza stays current with advances in dentistry by regularly attending continuing education courses, both locally and abroad. He is an active member of the Portland chapter of Spear Education study club. Locally, Dr. DeAinza participates with clubs for his college alumni and for cycling advocacy. He periodically volunteers his dental services in the community and helps out for events at his daughter’s school.

In his free time, Dr. DeAinza along with his wife, daughter, and two dogs enjoy hanging out in Portland and getting outdoors. He especially likes living in the Northwest for his hobbies—mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and kayaking. Closer to home, he enjoys gardening, live music, and rooting for the Trailblazers.

Fun Fact

Dr. De Ainza often rides his bike to the office. So if he seems a little sweaty for your 8am appointment, that’s why.

Dental Tip:

If you can’t brush after a meal or snack, chew some sugarless gum. Gum helps pull off leftover food particles and stimulates saliva, which is good for your teeth.
